You can find yourself dreaming indoors.
And you can probably find yourself waking up to a nightmare.
That’s because we’ve been conditioned to expect dreams to happen in our homes, and we know it’s impossible for us to achieve our dreams indoors.
The problem is that, even though we’ve gotten used to dreaming outdoors, we don’t always understand why we’re dreaming in the first place.
In this series, National Geographic’s Rachel Luscombe explores what it’s like to be outside in a dream world.
This time, we’ll explore the ways dreams can be created indoors.
If you want to learn more about what dreams are, check out Rachel’s book Dreams of Our Own: How to Create Your Own.
If not, we’ve created a free Dreamscape app, where you can take a nap in your own home, sleep with your family, and see what it feels like inside your own dream.
